Born and raised by Eastern European immigrants in Queens NY, Mark has been photo documenting cultural identities since 2005. He has covered stories on Lakota Indians in Pine Ridge, South Dakota to South Asian-American independent motel owners around the United States. His work has appeared in numerous publications and has been exhibited throughout North America. He won first place 'Travel Portrait' for Photo District News magazine in 2013 and was a finalist for 'People Portrait' at the Masters Cup of Photography in 2009. He is currently documenting Carpatho-Rusyns in the anthracite coal region of Eastern Pennsylvania. He lives in New York City with his wife and no pets.
