Mark Hewko is a photographer documenting cultural identities in North America. He has covered stories on Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota to Indian-American independent motel owners south of the Mason-Dixon line. His work has appeared in various publications and has been exhibited in United States. He won the 'Travel Portrait' for Photo District News magazine in 2013 and was a finalist for 'People Portrait' at the Masters Cup of Photography in 2009. He is currently documenting Slavic Americans in the anthracite coal region of Eastern Pennsylvania and the Basque culture of southern Idaho. He lives with his wife in New York City.
