Born and raised by Eastern European refugee immigrants in New York City, Mark has been documenting cultural identities in North America since 2005. He has covered stories on American Indians in Pine Ridge, South Dakota to South Asian-American independent motel owners around the country. His work has appeared in various publications and has been exhibited throughout the United States. He won the First Place 'Travel Portrait' for Photo District News magazine in 2013 and was a finalist for the 'People Portrait' at the Masters Cup of Photography in 2009. He is currently documenting Slavic Americans in the anthracite coal region of Eastern Pennsylvania. He lives in New York City with his wife and no pets.
